Bert „Mr Bassman“ Gerecht

is the driving force behind Hot Wire. He stays in close contact with the bassists, accepts suggestions and wishes, develops the designs and the marketing concepts. In the Hot Wire models you find Bert's experience as a bassist since 1968, bass customizer since 1980, and bass maker since 1999.

“It is important to us that every customer feels well advised and stays happy with his bass.”
— Bert Gerecht

The Hot Wire Bass is completely handmade. Selected tonewoods, best hardware and electronics make a good-looking instrument with excellent sound characteristics. Any bassist looking for an affordable and reliable stage and studio work equipment should consider a hot wire.

Special customer requests are welcome. Left handed? Fretless? Active? Special color? Hardwood top? Original Vintage optics? Double neck? Eight-string, or rather just three? Super light? Ten buttons? No buttons? Nothing is impossible! Models like Inlaw, Double Pee or Medium Scale, Headless and X-Tra-Lite have been stimulated by customer input and then developed to product maturity. The latest baby is called "Schoengeist".

International top bass players are excited about the Hot Wire necks, the sound of our Low B, our finishes, playing feel ... We are respectfully connected to the past, but we also know what the bassist needs these days. We call it "Nostalgia for the Future!" As long as Bert Gerecht and his clients have dreams, Hot Wire will not run out of ideas.

MR. BASSMAN GEHT TIEF RUNTER
