Something Special

That´s what the Customer told me, when we were discussing his bass project.

He wanted something real simple, he said. But special. He said he had already had owned a lot of basses and he knew by now exactly what he wanted in his FINAL BASS. He thought about “sandblasted swamp ash” which we had done a couple of times. That brings out the grain structure of the wood pretty well. The color was supposed to be a matte finish in “midnite blue”.

A maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and no dots. Along with a Zero fret. For additional strength, we put in two carbon rods on either side of the truss rod.

He had heard our W-Bucker Multi-Coils and wanted them. Combined with Noll 2Band Electronics. Topping it off with black Hipshot tuners and a BadAss bridge.

As we could not get in touch with our sandblasting guy, we suggested a „brushed“ stucture which we could do in-house. After we had applied the first layer of Blue, I sent him a pic. His response was, „Fantastic! Keep it like that!“

We call this color „Neon“.
