Something Special

That´s what the Customer told me, when we were discussing his bass project.

He wanted something real simple, he said. But special. He thought about “sandblasted swamp ash” which we had done a couple of times. It brings out the grain structure of the wood pretty well. The color was supposed to be a matte finish in “midnite blue”.

A maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and no dots. Along with a Zero fret. For additional strength, we put in two carbon rods on either side of the truss rod.

He had heard our W-Bucker Multi-Coils and wanted them. Combined with Noll 2Band Electronics. Topping it off with black Hipshot tuners and a BadAss bridge.

As we could not get in touch with our sandblasting guy, we suggested a „brushed“ stucture which we could do in-house. After we had applied the first layer of Blue, I sent him a pic. His response was, „Fantastic! Keep it like that!“

I call this color „Neon“.
