Pyramid Bass Strings
In 1985, Bert Gerecht became acquainted with Pyramid and the Junger family. Over the years he developed with them the "Pyramid" bass string program. That's why pyramids are always the first choice for Hot Wire!
PYRAMID Stainless Steel Round Woundoffer aggressive, hard sound with full overtone range, making them very suitable for modern slapping and tapping techniques, and are also popular with bass players in the harder metal section.
PYRAMID Pure Nickel Round Wound sound brilliant, fine, warm and singing - first choice for rock, jazz and fusion, and also perfect for fretless basses.
PYRAMID Nickel-Plated Steel Round Wound are made of a special alloy. The steel wire is finished with a thin layer of pure nickel. This "pure nickel" surface provides an excellent feel, and the steel guarantees the excellent magnetic pickup! Superbrillant and durable, with perfect sustain, full sound and long life.
PYRAMID Black Wires are made by hand. In order to ensure the highest possible brilliance, the black lacquer layer is applied only gossamer. This can be due to heavy use, but has no effect on the sound quality.
PYRAMID Gold Chrome Nickel Flat Wound bring back the classic bass sound of the sixties and seventies - very important when playing on vintage basses.
PYRAMID Black Tape Nylon strings are great for acoustic bass, fretless bass and deliver a double-bass-like sound.
PYRAMID AKUSTIK BRONZE
Made of a special gold-colored 80/20 brass alloy, wound on a hexagonal steel core. The strings are characterized by clear and brilliant sound. This set has been specially developed for acoustic bass guitars, with lighter tension and rich bass.
DOUBLE BALL
Each stainless string and every nickel string is also available as Double Ball End, but only in Long Scale, suitable for Steinberger Bass and their copies. The surcharge is 1 Euro per string.
CUSTOM STRINGS
For your special instrument and your special requirements, we are happy to put together an individual set according to your wishes - without surcharge! Give us your desired scale length and the string thickness - we'll do the rest!
Special string gauges and lengths are produced according to your specifications for a surcharge of 100% on the list price. All sets are also available with double ball end on request and against surcharge. All round wound sets are also available in nickel with a surcharge of 18%. For flatwound strings unfortunately no special designs are possible.
