Kai Eckhardt de Camargo
Every bass player must know Kai Eckhardt de Camargo who has had an unbelievable career.
Ever since Kai walked into my Mr. Bassman shop I knew this guy would be big. He left Germany to study the bass at Berklee College of Music, and when he got his Master Degree in 1984, he immediately started touring with John McLaughlin. After that, he was on the road with Billy Cobham and Aziza Mustafa Zadeh. Kai perfomed with Stanley Clarke, Wayne Shorter, Larry Coryell, Donald Byrd and the Meters. After many years with Garaj Mahal he now fronts the Kai Eckhardt Band. Kai lives in San Francisco and plays his Hot Wire Big Apple Bass since 2002.
