Simon Zauels

Simon had cello lessons from the age of six. At 16 he switched to bass. He gained his first experience in rock bands, but eventually discovered jazz, funk and fusion music and then decided to study jazz at the Saar University of Music. He is now a permanent bass player in some formations in Saarland.

Appearances at the Jazz Rally Düsseldorf, as part of the North Sea Jazz Festival, with the orchestra of the Saarland State Theater, as the opening act for Pee Wee Ellis, Kyle Eastwood, Ali Haurand Quintet etc. As bassist on a Cruise ship, he travelled to China, Vietnam, Thailand etc.

Simon loves his Hot Wire Fretless Bass and Hot Wire Supertop II Bass. He does not go anywhere without his Custom Hot Wire SingleCut "Long Ramp".

Simon uses Aguilar amps, Elixir strings and Vovox cables.
